EURES - European job mobility portal
What is EURES?
EURES is an information exchange network that facilitates the mobility of workers within all the member states of the European Union (EU) and the European Free Trade Association (EFTA). Members of the network include public employment services, their public and private partners, and social partners at cross-border level. Switzerland has been a member of the EURES network since 1 June 2002. One of the aims of the EURES network is to increase transparency in the labour market both at national, regional and cross-border level. Improvement of collaboration between public employment services and employers is one of the ten objectives set by EURES for the 2004-2007 period. During this period Switzerland is focusing on providing job seekers from the EU/EFTA who want to work in Switzerland and, in particular, cross-border workers with more information. EURES advisers, for instance, take part in information days organised by the European employment services with the backing of Swiss employers and private emplyoment agencies.
Are you looking for candidates?
EURES consultants enter your vacancies in the EURES information system and help you look for people who want to work in Switzerland or the European Union. They will tell you about the terms of recruitment on the Swiss and European labour market. An information system allows them to access candidates through the EU/EFTA. They can also put you in contact with potential candidates. EURES advisers are also familiar with living and working conditions in the EU/EFTA, as well as the social security systems in the partner countries.
